Hi! My name is Michelle Bowers and I am your host here at the Counselor’s Training Institute.
I have been dreaming about a post-graduate training institute since I landed in private practice fresh out of grad school. The goal of the Counselor’s Training Institute is to provide very practical webinars that will help registered interns navigate the gap between graduation and the counseling profession.
Every step throughout this journey, I have been painfully aware of the gap between graduation and sitting in a counseling room staring at clients. I can share a hundred stories of practical skills I had to learn the hard way, including my very first one: Opening the DSM for the first time at the public library after my first client session in private practice.
It is my sincere hope that these virtual webinars can provide the practical skills that you need to have the confidence and resources for you to provide quality mental health care.
